Fill every empty cell with a path of light
FillOut is a route puzzle about guiding light from a starting point through every cell on the board. As you extend the line, the spaces along your route glow, turning a scattered shape into one completed path.
The controls are simple: hold the light and drag it toward neighboring cells. The puzzle is deciding where to go first and how to reach every part of the layout.
One starting point, several possible directions
Each puzzle gives you a starting position and an arrangement of cells to study. Instead of moving into the nearest space automatically, look ahead and consider the order that could illuminate the whole board.
The glowing line makes your choices visible. With attention on the cells and the route between them, each puzzle becomes a small, clear challenge in planning a sequence.
How to play
- Open STAGE mode and choose an available puzzle. Check the stage list to see your progress and the challenges currently open.
- Find the colored starting cell and examine the empty spaces around it. Think about where the route might finish before making your first move.
- Hold the light at the starting point and drag it into a neighboring cell. The visited space lights up and the line extends along your chosen route.
- Change direction to follow the board's shape and reach the remaining spaces. Keep the entire layout in mind so an area is not left behind.
- Illuminate every cell to clear the stage. Check the completed route and the clear message before moving on.
- Continue to the next puzzle or return to the stage list. If the way forward is difficult to see, check the remaining hint count and use help when you need it.
Think about the finish before the first move
The most obvious neighboring cell is not always the best place to begin. Some spaces connect to several others, while a narrow end may need a particular place in your route.
Look at the edges and the sections where the shape becomes narrower. Consider which areas should be visited early so you do not leave an awkward empty section later.
On a short puzzle, it is easy to follow the route as you move. When the shape becomes more involved, trace a possible solution with your eyes first and think a few cells ahead.
Every cell is part of the goal
A long glowing line is only part of the challenge. The objective is to light the whole arrangement, so look back at the board for any cells your route has missed.
Breaking the shape into straight sections and corners can make it easier to understand. Plan how those smaller sections could join into one complete sequence.
The final cell gives the puzzle its moment of completion. What first looked like separate spaces becomes a connected shape, and the light shows exactly where your solution went.
Choose how to continue
The main screen offers STAGE and TIME ATTACK. Begin with stages to learn the controls and practice reading routes, then explore the time-attack option when you want another way to play.
The stage list includes IQ100 and IQ200 groups with completion indicators. Use the list to follow your progress and choose the next available goal after a successful puzzle.
One completed board can be a satisfying short session, or the beginning of a longer run through more shapes.
Use a hint when the route is hard to see
The hint control provides help when you are stuck. Check the number shown beside it, then look at how the suggested route fits the shape rather than simply moving past the difficult section.
FillOut focuses on observation, order, and the pleasure of seeing an entire layout come together. Take the light from its starting point, connect the empty cells, and discover the route that makes the whole board shine.
