Place a piece, complete a line, and look for the move that finishes several at once! CubeCombo is a placement puzzle built around a board of hexagonal cells. Drag the colorful cube shapes from the bottom into open spaces and work toward complete lines to build your score.
An empty board offers plenty of room, but every placement changes the choices that follow. Look beyond whether a piece fits right now: consider the space the next shape may need and the lines that are already close to completion. A small gap can make a meaningful difference to your next move.
How to Play
- Touch the start screen and inspect the hexagonal board and the available cube pieces below it. Each piece consists of several cubes joined into a particular shape.
- Drag a piece into an open area on the board. Find a position that accommodates the whole shape before releasing it.
- Check the new layout after each placement. The cubes now occupy those cells, so consider where your other pieces can still fit.
- Complete lines to earn points. Follow the rows across the board, identify their missing cells, and look for a piece that can fill them.
- Completing multiple lines with one placement offers a higher scoring opportunity. Look for positions that finish intersecting lines together.
- Consult the NEXT preview as you plan. When a new piece arrives, compare it with the current options and continue building. Use the score and best record at the top as references for your next target.
A Legal Fit Can Still Change Your Options
A piece fitting into a space does not automatically make that location useful for the following move. Before dropping it, inspect the gaps it will leave around its edges. Since you place connected shapes, several isolated empty cells may be less convenient than one open area.
Try to retain connected space that another piece can use. Deciding whether to tidy an edge or preserve room in the center gives each placement its puzzle character. The same shape can lead to a very different board depending on where you choose to put it.
Think Beyond a Single Line
When a line is nearly complete, check both the number and the positions of its empty cells. Can one available piece finish it? Can that piece also complete another line nearby? Comparing these possibilities helps you recognize the larger opportunities described in the tutorial.
Preparing a multiple-line finish also requires room to keep playing. Avoid filling every useful space while waiting for one ideal shape. Balance the prospect of a bigger combination against the flexibility of the board you will have after the move.
Use NEXT to Consider the Following Placement
Take a brief look at the upcoming shapes before committing the current one. A long piece and a bent piece may need very different spaces. A move that leaves a suitable landing area for what comes next can make the next decision more comfortable.
Treat that plan as something you can revise. After placing a piece, inspect the actual layout and the newly available option rather than following an old idea automatically. The pleasure comes from repeatedly turning a changing collection of spaces into a useful arrangement.
Colorful cubes, a purple hexagonal board, and a simple drag action create a puzzle about shape and anticipation. Read the open spaces, bring the lines together, and discover how much one thoughtful placement can add to your CubeCombo score!
