Help the penguin eggs trapped among the ice! Penguin Escape is a sliding puzzle in which you move glaciers out of the way and create a safe route for the rescue team. Work out the right order of moves within a crowded board, then guide the team and its egg through the exit.
The destination is easy to see, but reaching it takes more than shifting the closest obstacle. One glacier may be blocked by another, and the space you need may have to be created somewhere else first. Watching a tangled arrangement turn into an open escape route is the heart of every rescue.
How to Play
- Choose an available egg-shaped stage on the world screen and select START. Each puzzle places the rescue team and the glaciers in a particular arrangement.
- Locate the rescue team and the exit on the right side of the board. Your goal is to clear the route between them so the team can slide safely out.
- Press and drag a glacier to move it. Slide it along the direction in which it lies and into available space. A glacier cannot pass straight through cells occupied by another piece.
- If the glacier blocking the exit cannot move, inspect its surroundings. You may need to shift a different glacier first, make room, and then return to the original obstacle.
- Once the passage is clear, drag the rescue team toward the exit. Getting the team and egg out completes the stage and reveals the rescue result.
- Watch the MOVES counter and star display as you work. After a successful rescue, continue to the next stage or try again to find a cleaner, more efficient sequence.
Work Backward from the Exit
If you are unsure where to start, focus on the line between the team and the exit. Identify the glacier blocking that line, then ask where it needs to go. If another piece occupies the required space, consider how that piece could move out of the way.
Following these requirements backward from the goal helps turn a crowded board into a series of smaller decisions. A move does not have to open the exit immediately to be useful. Creating the space needed for the next important move can be the key to the entire puzzle.
Empty Space Is Part of the Solution
Pay attention to the gaps as well as the glaciers. Moving the same piece to a different stopping point can change which other pieces have room to slide. Make enough space for the movement you are planning, and think about which glacier will need that opening afterward.
Horizontal and vertical pieces interact by blocking or freeing one another's routes. After each move, look over the whole board again. A small change can make a previously impossible shift available, bringing the rescue team one step closer to a clear passage.
From a Successful Rescue to a Better Solution
Begin by concentrating on getting the egg out safely. Once you understand a puzzle, use the move counter to challenge yourself to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth movement. Finding a shorter sequence gives a familiar stage a fresh goal and makes the final escape even more satisfying.
The egg-shaped stage map and the little penguins revealed after a rescue give each completed puzzle a cheerful sense of progress. Open the route, slide the team through the exit, and enjoy the moment when a carefully chosen order of moves comes together.
Take a close look at the ice, find the space that matters, and help the waiting penguin eggs reach safety—one thoughtful rescue at a time!
